Darren is a spatial practitioner and artist working across film, architecture, co-design, and activism. A graduate of UCC/MTU’s B.Sc. in Architecture and UNIC’s M.Sc. in Redesigning the Post-Industrial City, their practice explores identity, memory, timescapes, and sense of place through filmmaking, mapping, drawing, and research.
A Little Closer (2026), which they co-wrote, script supervised, and co-production designed, premieres at the 2026 Cork International Film Festival, following the award of a Lord Puttnam Scholarship from University College Cork, in association with Oscar-winning producer David Puttnam. Uncertain Ground (2026) is participatory videography documentary created by Darren, capturing personal perspectives on the value of community organised meanwhile-use site TEST SITE. Darren is a Project Coordinator at TEST SITE and an Architectural Assistant at AMPLE Space, with a practice rooted in collaborative, community-led approaches to spatial storytelling.
